Finding Hope in Slow Progress
You can do it :)
Hey Fam,
Heres something you can read to cheer yourself up if you need to.
After a stroke (or any neurological injury for that matter), recovery can sometimes feel frustratingly slow. One person once shared that they expected progress to look like climbing a staircase—each day a clear step up. But instead, it felt more like a winding path, with days of movement and days of stillness.
They began to doubt themselves, wondering if anything was really changing. But then came a gentle reminder: “Remember where you started. The small things you can do now were impossible at first. That is real progress.”
Stroke recovery is much like planting a seed. At first, it seems as if nothing is happening. But beneath the surface, roots are forming. With patience and daily care, a small shoot emerges, and slowly, it grows stronger.
If you feel discouraged by slow progress, remember—every effort counts. Healing is happening, even in the quiet moments. 🌱
With love,
BP
