3 Mistakes That I Frequently See
These apply for mainly for survivors of neurological injury - but to be frank, it is very largely applicable to any one who is undergoing physical rehabilitation
Hey Fam!
I have uploaded my latest video this week which breaks down 3 common mistakes I have seen in many many of the individuals whom I have had the privilege to work with.
Quick summary of the video is provided in this newsletter too, check it out :)
Standing up too fast
you may think this is normal but actually standing up fast is not always good because it will not allow you to strengthen the muscles as you do the movement
sit to stands are almost a full body exercise hence by doing it fast, you lose the opportunity to work out more muscles and gain strength faster
Making quick repetitions rather than quality repetitions
this is a sure fire way to develop bad habits and compensatory movements which will mask the true recovery of the limbs when they eventually do have a return of muscle power in the near future
Locking the knees during walking
i have done a full video about this explaining the reasons and detailing the exercises as well - so check out this video if you would like to:
